Lumbus Live Terms
These terms cover Lumbus Live — the Studio and Studio Pro plans, and the studio and the Lumbus Live app they include — and add to the Lumbus Terms of Service, which apply to every Lumbus product. Your phone with the Lumbus Live app is the encoder; a camera, through your phone or a laptop, and a laptop on its own can send to your studio too. Where the two documents differ for Lumbus Live, these terms win.
Read together with the Lumbus Terms of Service. Last updated 14 October 2026.
1. Who you’re dealing with
Lumbus Live is provided by Lumbus Technologies Limited, registered in England & Wales (company no. 16793515), 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. You can reach us at live@getlumbus.com.
You use one Lumbus account for everything — this site, the studio, the Lumbus Live app and, if you ever need them, travel eSIMs. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite to your studio and the roles you give them.
2. Pricing and billing
The prices on our pricing page, for the Studio plans (Studio, Studio Plus, Studio Pro and Studio Max) and the Bond sizes, are the prices you pay, in US dollars, before taxes, which are shown separately.
Our price list is in US dollars. Where the site shows pounds or euros, that is a conversion at the day’s rate, rounded to whole units, for convenience only. A plan is billed by card in US dollars, at the amount shown on the payment page before you pay; an add-on we bill by hand is confirmed with you in writing before it is billed.
Monthly or yearly. Every plan, the Studio plans and the Bond sizes, can be paid monthly or, where the pricing page offers it, yearly. A year costs ten and a half months of the monthly price, rounded down to a price ending in 9, and is paid in one payment at the start of the year.
Nothing is charged until a plan is on your account, and no service is added to a plan unless you switch it on.
The free trial. Every new Studio account starts with 7 days of Studio Pro, free. A payment card is taken when the trial starts and nothing is charged if you cancel before the trial ends; if you do not cancel, the plan you chose (Studio Pro unless you switched) is billed from the end of the trial, monthly or yearly as you chose, at the price on our pricing page. One trial per person. During the trial, Studio hours are capped at 8 in total, so a trial is a few real streams, not seven days of continuous use.
Unlimited live Studio hours. Every Studio plan includes unlimited live Studio hours for normal creator and production use, whatever the number of platforms. A single continuous stream may run for up to 24 hours; start it again to carry on. Continuous 24/7 channels, automated rebroadcasting and unusually high-volume use are outside normal use and need a Custom plan: if your use goes beyond it we will contact you first and agree a Custom plan with you, and we never stop a stream for it without telling you. Extra Studio time is not charged. Bond streams straight to your platforms are separate from Studio. The free trial keeps its own limit of hours on air, set out above.
Unlimited phones. Where a Studio plan says unlimited phones beside you, that means as many as one session can technically carry — 14 on 6 October 2026 — and is subject to fair use: a session carries one stream, from one place, for one production.
The founding reservation (a refundable deposit for 5% off a plan) was withdrawn on 6 October 2026. A deposit paid before then keeps the terms it was paid under: the discount recorded on the reservation, a full refund at any time on request, and the deposit coming off the first order.
3. Lumbus Multi-network SIMs — withdrawn
Lumbus Multi-network SIMs are no longer sold with Lumbus Live as of 13 October 2026. A SIM allowance bought before that date runs to the end of the period you paid for, on the terms it was sold with, and is not renewed. Travel eSIMs are sold on the Lumbus eSIM site under the Lumbus Terms of Service.
4. Lumbus Connect (multi-link bonding) — withdrawn
Lumbus Connect is withdrawn as of 6 October 2026 and is no longer sold. A bonding allowance bought before that date runs to the end of its validity on the terms it was sold with; its sign-in stays in your dashboard until then, and nothing new is added to it.
5. The Studio plans
Studio is a subscription, paid monthly or yearly (section 2), in four sizes — Studio, Studio Plus, Studio Pro and Studio Max — which differ in what they include (platforms at once, guests, seats, storage, brand kits, AI moments, the second source (two cameras at once, or a backup), clean-feed recording, alerts, role permissions, the API, support) as set out on the pricing page and the comparison page. Live Studio hours are unlimited on every plan (section 2).
- Changing plan. You can change plan, or move between monthly and yearly, at any time from your plan page. During the free trial a change decides what is billed when the trial ends, and nothing is charged before then. After the trial a change takes effect at once and the time left on your current plan counts towards it: a move to a dearer plan, or from monthly to yearly, is charged to your card straight away for the difference; a move to a cheaper plan, or from yearly to monthly, leaves a credit that is used against your next payments and is not paid out. If your card is declined, nothing changes.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal: your plan runs to the end of the month or the year already paid, with no refund for the unused part, and nothing more is charged. Cancelling during the free trial means nothing is charged at all. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
- Recordings are yours. We keep them while your subscription is active, up to your plan's storage, and 7 days after a studio ends we delete that studio's recordings. Download what you want to keep before then; deleted recordings can't be recovered.
- Storage is the limit, not age. If your storage fills, recording pauses until files are removed or more storage is added. The live stream continues.
- Extra recording storage is a monthly add-on to the plan you already have. We do not offer unlimited recording storage.
- If you move to a plan with less storage than you are using, recording pauses until you are under the new storage; nothing is deleted by us. We tell you before it happens so you can download first.
- When you cancel or destroy a studio, its recordings are deleted 7 days after the studio ends.
- Your studio runs in the region you choose. You may move it between trips; we prepare your studio’s machine and tell you when it is ready. A studio that streams above 1080p runs on a machine with a video card, which in some regions sits in the nearest region that has one; your studio address and the region you chose do not change.
- Each plan includes unlimited live Studio hours (section 2) and a monthly allowance of viewer hours on the public watch page, as set out on the pricing page. Viewer hours add up the time people spend on your watch page and count the calendar month; they are never cut off, and extra viewer hours can be added for the month.
- An asleep studio’s machine is released after a short grace period and rebuilt before your next scheduled start or when you wake it; waking a released machine takes minutes rather than seconds. Sleep never happens while you are live or while a source is connected. Your scenes, destinations, settings and recordings live on Lumbus, not on the machine, so nothing of yours is lost when a machine is released.
- Your studio is built never to end an active broadcast on its own. A lost connection, a schedule, a restart of the studio software or an update does not end a stream you are running; a stream ends when you end it. The exceptions are the ones in the general terms — suspension for non-payment or misuse, applied between streams wherever we can — and a failure of the machine or its hosting that we cannot prevent.
- To keep streaming when it cannot reach Lumbus, your studio machine holds a copy of its current settings, including the stream keys of your destinations, on its own disk for as long as the studio exists. It is deleted with the machine.
- ISO and local recordings. When recording is on, your studio also records each guest and each feed on its own (separate video and audio), and, on plans that include it, a vertical copy of the programme. A guest or host who switches on local recording in their browser records their own camera on their own device and uploads it to your studio afterwards; that upload is a recording like any other and counts against your storage.
- AI moments. After a stream with recording on, we read the recording's audio to make a transcript and read the stream's chat and telemetry to find the moments worth posting, then cut the ones you choose into clips, landscape or vertical, with captions in your brand. Each plan includes a number of clip exports and hours of stream read a month, shown on the pricing page; more hours are an add-on at the price shown there. A moment is a suggestion: nothing is posted anywhere by us, and you may discard any moment. On Studio Max you can require approval before a clip is exported. We do not use your recordings, transcripts or moments to train anything; your thumbs up and down shape only your own suggestions. Transcripts, moments and clips are deleted with the recording they came from.
- Brand kits and shows. A brand kit (logo, colours, lower-third and caption style) and a saved show (a studio set-up) are yours; the number of brand kits you can save is set by your plan. A show applied to a studio replaces that studio's scenes and settings.
- Pre-recorded live streams (Studio Pro and Studio Max). A video you upload can be broadcast at a time you schedule, to the platforms you choose. You are responsible for following each platform's rules on labelling pre-recorded content, and for the rights in it (section 8). A scheduled broadcast is live production like any other stream, under the fair use in section 2: scheduling your own videos for your audience is normal use; rebroadcasting on a loop or around the clock is not.
- Guests' own platforms (Studio Pro and Studio Max). A guest you invite may add their own platform to your broadcast from their join link; their stream key is sealed like yours and can be read only by your studio machine, and it is removed when you remove the guest or they remove it. Their platform counts towards your plan's platforms at once, and what goes out to it is your programme, under section 8.
- The API and webhooks (Studio Max). You may create API keys that control your studios and webhooks that send event notices to web addresses you choose. A key is a password: keep it secret, revoke it if it leaks, and anything done with it counts as done by you. A webhook sends the event data shown on the developers page to the address you give; choose addresses you control.
6. Hardware — sales withdrawn
Hardware sales are withdrawn as of 6 October 2026. Lumbus no longer sells or rents streaming hardware through this website; you stream from your phone with the Lumbus Live app, which is the encoder, from a camera, through your phone or a laptop, or from a laptop.
- Hardware bought from us before 6 October 2026 keeps the terms it was sold with: unused hardware in its original condition may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the hardware price (you pay the return shipping; the original shipping isn’t refunded; used, modified or damaged hardware can’t be returned under this right; your statutory rights are unaffected), and it is covered for 12 months from delivery against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, subject to the supplier warranty terms confirmed with the order — we repair or replace at our choice, and the warranty doesn’t cover drops, water, tampering, unauthorised modification, or the performance of any mobile network or streaming platform.
7. How the service is delivered
Lumbus supplies, configures and supports the complete service. Selected parts of the service are delivered using third-party hosting and storage providers. Coverage, speed and performance may vary by location, network conditions and provider availability.
Lumbus product names describe the service we manage for you — the configuration, the dashboard, the support and the billing. They are not a claim that Lumbus manufactures every component.
8. What you can stream
You must own or hold the rights to what you stream and record, and you must follow the rules of every platform you send it to (Kick, Twitch, YouTube and any other destination you add). Nothing unlawful, and nothing that puts other people at risk.
If you break these rules or don’t pay, we may suspend or end your Lumbus Live services. We give notice where we reasonably can; for ongoing abuse or a legal requirement we may act at once.
9. Support
What we promise, by plan, is on our support page. Studio Pro and Studio Max include a priority line for stream-down incidents while you’re on a trip, around the clock, with a one-hour response target. Support targets are commitments to respond, not a guarantee that a stream, a network or a platform will never fail.
10. Responsibility and limits
We don’t control the mobile networks your connections use, the platforms you stream to, or your own phone, camera and any gear you connect. We’re not responsible for a stream that drops, viewers or income lost, or content that is lost or delayed because of them.
Except where the law doesn’t allow us to limit it — for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer — our total responsibility to you for Lumbus Live in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for Lumbus Live in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
11. Changes, ending, law
We may update these terms. We email you before a change that affects you takes effect; carrying on using Lumbus Live after that date means you accept it. You may end your subscriptions at any time as described above.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — this doesn’t take away protections you have as a consumer where you live.
