Charge viewers to watch

Sell tickets for 1, 3, 7, 10 or 30 streams on your watch page: set up payouts once, set your prices, share, and see who paid.

Where you can sell tickets

  • Payouts can be set up where your bank account is in one of these 43 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States.

  • If your bank account is in another country, you can’t sell tickets yet; everything else in Lumbus Live works the same. Your viewers don’t need to be in these countries: they pay by card on your page.

Set up payouts, once

  1. 1

Open Earnings. Only the studio’s owner sees it.

  2. 2

Pick Where your bank account is (one of the 43 countries above) and press Set up payouts. The country can’t be changed later.

  3. 3

Stripe asks who you are and where to pay you. It saves as you go, so you can stop and come back. When it is done, Earnings says so.

Set your prices

  1. 1

Your watch page has to be on: switch it on under Platforms first.

  2. 2

Under Charge to watch, type a price for each ticket you want to sell (1, 3, 7, 10 or 30 streams). Leave a size empty not to sell it.

  3. 3

Choose when Tickets end: no end date, or a number of days after buying, for a course for example.

  4. 4

Leave Ticket holders can download each stream they opened on to let them download the recordings, or switch it off.

  5. 5

Press Save, then Start charging to watch. From then only ticket holders, and people with your passcode, can watch.

Share it

  1. 1

Under Share your page, set your Next show: viewers see it in their own time.

  2. 2

Copy the message, share it to a network, or download a story or a square picture with a code to scan for Instagram.

After the stream

  • Streams shows how many ticket holders joined each stream. When its recording is ready, Email the recording sends each of them their own link.

  • Who paid lists every ticket. Send again sends a buyer their ticket email again, and Download the list saves it as a spreadsheet.

  • Refunds and disputes are under Payments; your balance and your bank transfers under Payouts; your details under Account.

Good to know

  • Platform fee per ticket: 20% on Free, 15% on Studio, 10% on Studio Plus, 8% on Studio Pro and 5% on Studio Max. Card processing fees are deducted before payout.

  • A stream counts the first time a ticket holder opens it. If your stream drops and you start again within 20 minutes, it is not counted twice.

  • A ticket plays on one device at a time. Viewers pay on the web; the Lumbus Live app plays a ticket with its code and never sells one.

  • The free trial doesn’t include charging to watch. You can set up payouts and your prices during it, and switch it on once your plan starts.

  • Your page stops selling when every seat has a ticket, and everyone with a ticket gets in.

  • A stream you charge for goes to your watch page alone. While Charge to watch is on and a platform is on under Platforms, Go live waits and says why.
